Top clown at the first two NFR
D.J. “Kajun Kidd” Gaudin of Boerne, a rodeo clown and bullfighter since 1956, the first of his profession to be inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, and a National Cowboy Museum Hall of Fame inductee. “Kajun Kidd” was chosen by the cowboys as the top clown and bullfighter at the first two National Finals Rodeos. In 1958 he joined Neal Gay, Jim Shoulders, Ira Akers and Harry Tompkins in beginning the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. He retired in 1979 after working the Houston Rodeo for 25 years.
