Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame Hires New Director

August 13, 2001

Fort Worth- Holt Hickman has announced the naming of a new Executive Director at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.  Ann Bastable was the Director of Volunteers and Visitor Services at the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau for the past nine years. “I first met Mr. Hickman in 1992 when I was the Manager of the Stockyards Visitors Information Center,” Bastable notes.  “I made many friends and worked on many projects with the hotels, restaurants and attractions in the Stockyards National Historic District. I feel like I’m coming home by accepting this position with Fort Worth’s newest museum.”

Ms. Bastable is a Fort Worth native with a Master’s Degree in History from TCU. She taught at Tarrant County College, was Administrator of the Fielder Museum in Arlington, and a Volunteer Coordinator for the 1,000 volunteers at Soviet Space Exhibit. “I think all my previous experience--everything I’ve been involved with in the past-- all comes together here at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.”

The museum features three exhibits for one admission price. The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame honors men and women who have excelled in rodeo or cutting. Visitors may also see over 60 wagons, carriages and sleighs in the Sterquell Collection and the John Justin Trail of Fame.

The Museum and gift shop is open daily. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors 60 and over, and $2 for children 3-12. Museum hours are Monday-Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm; and Sunday from Noon to 6 pm.
